YOUR TURN / START WHERE YOU ARE

No comeback

Your story doesn’t need a happy ending.
It needs an honest beginning.

A NOTE TO YOURSELF

“It didn’t go
as planned.
Here’s what
I know now.”

THAT’S ENOUGH TO START.

01What did you try?+

The goal, the context, and what you believed would happen.

Start with: “I thought that if I… then…” Name the constraints you were working within.

02What actually happened?+

The outcome, without tidying it up.

Separate what you observed from what you now believe caused it. Specific details are more useful than “it was a disaster.”

03What changed for you?+

An assumption challenged. A limit discovered.

What do you understand differently now? It is okay if the answer is still incomplete.

04What can you pass on?+

A useful lesson, with its limits attached.

What might someone in a similar situation try or question? Say where your lesson may not apply.

Honest. Specific. Kind.

Share what you have permission to share. Remove identifying details about others unless they’ve agreed. Give collaborators a fair account.

Still opening the doors.

Story submissions aren’t open yet. For now, the template is yours to keep, reflect on, or share yourself. Nothing is submitted through this page.
